When light is shed on the darkness…

At first, it was assumed that a technical solution to the customer’s problem couldn’t be provided right away. The challenge was tricky: under poor lighting conditions, the outdoor terminal couldn’t read the barcode on the access medium—so the door remained locked, and authorized individuals were unable to enter the building. But our technician, Wolfgang Thielebürger, wasn’t willing to accept that. For him, it was immediately clear: “We can’t just tell the customer that—there has to be a solution!”
He was determined to keep digging until he found a way for the customer’s IF-812BI terminals to read barcodes even in low-light conditions. That’s the only way to ensure that people can gain access through the doors—even in the dark—by simply scanning a barcode. Now that’s what we call taking responsibility!
During the busy year-end period, Wolfgang Thielebürger worked meticulously on the affected terminal model, equipping it with additional LEDs. Thanks to this enhancement, the terminal can now detect and read barcodes even in the dark. The prototype passed all internal tests with flying colors. Without hesitation, Mr. Thielebürger drove to the customer’s site and retrofitted one of the installed terminals with the new lighting. The functionality tests on-site were a success. Problem solved! The customer was thoroughly impressed by Interflex’s flexibility and Wolfgang’s outstanding commitment.
