Interflex employee installs lift controller

A major publishing house in Hamburg approached Interflex with a request regarding elevator control. The goal was to grant access to the editorial department exclusively to authorized personnel. Prior to installation, all technical requirements for integrating the Interflex system with the existing elevator were clarified over the phone. Interflex coordinated closely with both the customer and the elevator manufacturer to ensure optimal preparation for the installation.

The installation was scheduled for a swift implementation — right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the timing turned out to be ideal: the entire publishing staff was working from home, so temporarily shutting down the elevator had no impact on daily operations. The timing couldn’t have been better! On-site, the only point of contact was the receptionist, who provided access to the necessary rooms. For any installation-related questions, the customer was available by phone. This ensured a smooth installation process.

While the on-site installation was underway, Interflex’s system consultants remotely activated and configured the IF-6040 elevator control system. Once the work was completed, all elevator floor access functions were thoroughly tested. The designated IF-6040 key user was then given a remote briefing on the system’s access rights structure.

The entire installation was completed within a single working day. The customer’s physical presence on-site was not required, and they were kept informed of the timeline at all times. Interflex made efficient use of the empty office spaces caused by the pandemic and delivered an elevator control solution tailored to the customer’s needs.

Thanks to the elevator’s architectural design, the team also enjoyed a beautiful view of Hamburg’s HafenCity during their lunch break — a spectacular sight in perfect weather, and certainly not something you get to experience on every service call.
